MANTRA Chain Network Halted After Attempted Attack on Software Weakness
MANTRA Chain's Layer 1 network has been halted after an attempted attack targeted a software weakness, freezing transactions and block production. The incident was linked to the Cosmos EVM module and affected two wallet addresses.
The team identified the root cause and contained the immediate threat, stating that no user funds were exploited. They have prepared a security patch but will not restart the network until testing is completed by validators.
OM token dropped about 18.5% to $0.004126 after the halt, marking a new all-time low. Major exchanges have paused OM deposits and withdrawals until the issue is resolved.
