MANTRA Chain Offline Amid Security Incident Ahead of Planned Mainnet Restart
MANTRA Chain has been offline due to a security incident that occurred recently. The project's team has identified a vulnerability and is currently testing a patched software release, version 8.4.0, which addresses the issue. A mainnet restart is planned for later on August 21, but the timing depends on the successful completion of testing.
According to MANTRA, user funds are unaffected by the halt itself, and a full snapshot of the network state was taken before the restart process began. The team has instructed validators to keep their mainnet nodes offline until further notice.
The disruption has also had an impact on South Korean crypto exchange Bithumb, which has designated MANTRA as a trading warning asset. Deposits and withdrawals remain suspended, and it is unclear whether the warning will be extended, lifted, or followed by the termination of trading support.
