MANTRA Network Halted Amid Exploit and Trading Frenzy
MANTRA Chain's network was forced to halt all activity after an exploit targeted a vulnerability in an upstream software dependency. The incident occurred on August 21, 2026, causing the MANTRA token price to plummet by 18.5% before partially recovering.
The network remained suspended due to concerns about potential manipulation or insider selling, although no such evidence has been found. The halt blocked normal transfers across the chain and affected validator operations, bridge activity, and public chain access.
According to CoinGecko data, trading volume surged nearly 600% to around $24 million as traders reacted quickly to the network incident. However, price weakness began minutes before the final recorded block.
