MANTRA Token Price Crashes to Record Low After Exploit Hits Upstream Dependency

MANTRA Chain's token price plummeted to an all-time low of $0.004126 after an exploit was discovered on its upstream dependency.

The incident occurred on August 22, with the token falling from $0.005060 to its record low in a matter of minutes before the network halted production and froze endpoints, validators, and bridge operations as the team investigated.

An attacker had exploited a vulnerability in an 'upstream dependency,' which is software used by MANTRA Chain but developed outside the network itself.

The developers are working to prepare a patched release, and validators remain offline while they test the fix. The project is tracing fund movements and collaborating with exchanges to assess the damage, although it has not disclosed which software was exploited or how the attack worked.
