MARA Holdings, a Nasdaq-listed Bitcoin miner, has sold off $1.6 billion worth of BTC during the first half of the year. According to data from blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain, MARA unloaded 23,093 BTC between January and June.

This significant reduction in MARA's digital asset holdings reflects the challenging economics faced by Bitcoin miners post-halving. The company has historically been a vocal proponent of holding BTC as a treasury reserve asset but appears to have pivoted towards selling portions of its holdings to fund operational costs, expansion, or debt repayment.

Despite trimming its treasury, MARA still holds 35,577 BTC, valued at approximately $2.3 billion at current market prices. This substantial position underscores the company's continued belief in Bitcoin's long-term value.
