Mara Holdings, the world's largest bitcoin mining company, has significantly reduced its bitcoin holdings by 34% in the first half of 2026. According to a recent report, Mara Holdings sold $1.63 billion worth of BTC between January and June this year.

The company disposed of approximately 23,093 BTC during this period, with an average selling price of around $70,631 per coin. This sale accounted for about one-third of the 53,822 BTC that Mara Holdings held at the end of 2025.

Mara Holdings' bitcoin holdings now stand at 35,577 BTC as of June 30th. The company's decision to sell a substantial portion of its BTC is seen as a strategic move to prioritize liquidity and business restructuring over expanding its bitcoin holdings.
