MARA Lands $600M in BTC-Backed Loans for AI and Energy Push
MARA Holdings has secured $600 million in Bitcoin-backed loans to fund its aggressive push into artificial intelligence infrastructure and energy generation. The company borrowed the funds on August 4, 2026, by pledging 18,750 BTC across two credit facilities.
The deal is structured with a broader $750 million total facility arrangement, where Coinbase provided $450 million, refinancing an existing $150 million loan, and Two Prime contributed the remaining $300 million. Both facilities mature in August 2028.
The 18,750 BTC pledged as collateral represents approximately 54% of MARA's Bitcoin treasury, which held 35,577 BTC valued at roughly $2.1 billion by the end of Q2 2026, with an average price of $58,524 during the quarter.
