MARA Stock Jumps on Bitcoin Hoard, High-Performance Computing Pivot
MARA Holdings Inc.'s stock jumped by 7.44% after investors reacted positively to its latest strategic developments.
The company reported holding 35,577 bitcoin at the end of Q2 2026, worth around $2.1 billion at a spot price of $58,524 per BTC, underscoring its significant leverage to bitcoin moves.
Cantor Fitzgerald cut MARA's price target from $14 to $12 but reiterated an Overweight rating, while Clear Street lowered its target from $12 to $10 and kept a Hold on the stock as it pivots from a tough Bitcoin mining backdrop toward high-performance computing via a joint venture.
Morgan Stanley raised its MARA target to $6 from $5.50, expecting at least one HPC lease deal plus two Starwood JV site leases this year, and highlighted that MARA is positioned to benefit from growing compute demand.
