MARA Stock Soars 15% as Bitcoin Surpasses $72K Amid Clarity Act Push
MARA Holdings stock surged 15.54% to $11.15 on Thursday as Bitcoin's price broke above $72,000.
The move was partly driven by President Donald Trump's pressure on Congress to pass the Clarity Act, a crypto regulatory framework bill that would split oversight between the SEC and CFTC.
MAR Holdings' financials are highly sensitive to Bitcoin's price, as evidenced by its $343 million digital asset fair value loss in Q2. A sustained recovery in Bitcoin's price could help reverse some of this damage in Q3 and beyond.
The company is expanding into AI infrastructure and digital energy, aiming to monetize its large power pipeline for enterprise AI hosting alongside crypto mining.
