MARA Suffers $611M Net Loss as BTC Prices Weigh on Mining Revenue
BTC miner MARA reported a net loss of $611.3 million in Q2 2026, down from a profit of $808.2 million in the same period last year. The decline was primarily due to a 28% decrease in the average BTC price.
MARA mined 2,422 BTC in Q2 2026, an increase of 3% compared to the prior year period. However, this higher production was offset by the drop in BTC prices, resulting in a net loss for the company.
The company's CFO, Salman Khan, attributed the quarter's performance to 'Bitcoin prices created a challenging revenue environment' and 'we used the quarter to fundamentally transform our power portfolio and capital structure.'
