MARA Suffers $611M Net Loss as Revenue Falls 27%
The publicly traded Bitcoin miner MARA reported a net loss of over $611 million for the second quarter of 2026, citing a 27% year-over-year drop in revenue. The company's BTC holdings fell by nearly a third to $2.1 billion as it sold some assets to support liquidity and capital projects.
The miner attributed the decline in revenue to the lower price of Bitcoin, which fell 28% year over year. MARA managed to increase its computing capacity by 22% but saw its adjusted EBITDA drop to a loss of $360.9 million from a positive $1.2 billion.
The company is shifting focus towards building infrastructure beyond Bitcoin mining and has secured rights to a powered land site in Texas, which could expand its power portfolio to as much as 4.8 gigawatts if approved.
