MARA Holdings has been selling its Bitcoin holdings to fund operations and investments. During the first half of 2026, the company sold about 23,093 BTC for roughly $1.63 billion at an average price of $70,631.

The sales were part of MARA's strategy to manage liquidity and support growth opportunities. The company used the proceeds to fund operations, investments, and liquidity needs. In addition to outright sales, MARA has also been using its remaining Bitcoin for lending and collateralized borrowing.

The company has increased its mining capacity over the year, with energized hashrate reaching 70.3 EH/s at June 30 from 57.4 EH/s a year earlier. The increase in energy capacity has allowed MARA to produce more Bitcoin, with 2,422 BTC produced during the second quarter.
