MariBank Weighs Crypto Trading Features Amid Growing Demand

Share

MariBank, a digital bank in the Philippines, is considering adding crypto trading features to its app. According to an in-app survey sent to selected users, the bank is gathering market research on whether customers want to buy, sell, and hold cryptocurrency directly inside the app using their existing MariBank or ShopeePay balance.

The survey asks about user demand for various feature concepts, including direct fiat-to-crypto trading, stablecoin savings and yield, cross-border transfers, and advanced features like spot trading and derivative trading. It also inquires about users' current pain points when using crypto exchanges.

If MariBank decides to roll out these features, it would be a major expansion in the Philippine retail crypto landscape, where local e-wallet competitors already offer integrated trading features.
