Market Fleeing Fiat Instability Finds Safe Haven in Bitcoin
Bitcoin's price surged over 7% in a 24-hour period, reaching levels not seen since six weeks ago. According to Samson Mow, CEO of JAN3, this rally is a defensive reaction by international capital. He believes that the market smells blood in the water and is getting on the Bitcoin ship for safety.
The rapid appreciation was accompanied by a 45% increase in spot trading volume on major global exchanges. The breakout above technical resistance levels triggered a liquidation cascade, predominantly impacting traders holding short positions. Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States recorded net positive inflows for the third consecutive day.
According to Farside Investors, institutional trading desks increased their weekly allocations by over $450 million, reversing the outflow trend seen earlier in the month. The network's daily issuance rate remains at 450 BTC following the halving in April, creating a structural divergence between available supply and aggregate demand.
