Mastercard Backs XRP Ledger Hackathon Amid Stablecoin Settlement Plans

Mastercard has announced that it will sponsor a 36-hour XRP Ledger hackathon in New York on October 24-25. The event will focus on protocol innovation, agentic finance, lending, and XRPL functionality projects.

The hackathon aims to foster new financial applications on the XRP Ledger and precedes Ripple’s Swell conference.

Separately, Mastercard plans to support regulated stablecoin settlements, including Ripple USD (RLUSD), across multiple blockchains.
