Share

Mastercard has finalized its $1.8 billion acquisition of Ripple partner BVNK, strengthening its push into blockchain-powered payments and bridging traditional finance with digital assets.

The deal marks a significant milestone in Mastercard's efforts to connect traditional banking systems with blockchain-based infrastructure, aiming to remove friction between fiat currencies and stablecoins.

According to Jorn Lambert, Mastercard's Chief Product Officer, the next phase of payments will be driven by interoperability, where different forms of money work together seamlessly instead of competing on separate rails.
