Mastercard Joins XRP Ledger Hackathon as Spot ETF Inflows Soar
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is gaining attention ahead of Ripple Swell 2026 after Mastercard joined an upcoming developer event. The move comes as 21Shares changed how its XRP ETF tracks the token.
Mastercard will sponsor the XRP Ledger Hackathon on October 24 and 25, a 36-hour event that will take place just before Ripple Swell 2026. Developers will build payment-focused projects and meet companies working with the network.
The foundation said the XRP Ledger offers a tested structure for payment use cases and invited developers to register for the event. Mastercard has expanded its work with crypto companies this year, including connections with Binance, Gemini, PayPal, Paxos, Circle, and Ripple.
