Mastercard Joins XRP Ledger Hackathon in New York
Mastercard has confirmed its participation in the XRP Ledger Hackathon in New York on October 24-25. The event, sponsored by Mastercard, will bring developers together to build and launch applications using the XRP Ledger protocol.
The hackathon will cover four tracks: protocol innovation, agentic finance, lending and borrowing, and an open category for other projects. This is not a new payment product or commercial deployment on XRPL itself, but rather Mastercard's involvement in the developer event.
Mastercard has already announced that it plans to support regulated stablecoin settlement, including RLUSD, across eight blockchain networks, including the XRP Ledger. The company will provide issuers and acquirers with more choice in how and when they settle transactions.
