Mastercard Pays Up to $318K for Crypto Developers Amid Industry Hiring Spree

Share

Mastercard is expanding its crypto division by hiring top talent from the industry. The company has posted job listings for various positions, including a crypto product developer with a salary of up to $318,000 in New York.

This move is part of a broader effort by Mastercard to build its bench with digital asset expertise. Salaries for crypto-related roles at the company range from $90,000 to $348,000, putting them on par with Wall Street banks and well-funded crypto startups.

The payment giant has also launched its Crypto Partner Program, which includes a coalition of over 85 crypto-native firms and financial institutions. The program aims to improve on-chain payments and cross-border transfers.

Mastercard's hiring spree is not unique in the industry. Visa has been expanding its own crypto and stablecoin capabilities, while PayPal launched its own stablecoin recently. Banks like JPMorgan have also been developing blockchain-based settlement systems internally for years.
