Maya Postpones IPO to 2027 as GCash Takes Center Stage
Maya's initial public offering (IPO) has been pushed back to 2027, allowing its biggest competitor GCash to take center stage first on the Philippine Stock Exchange.
The fintech firm will be listing after rival GCash makes its market debut. This staggered timing creates a valuation benchmark for local tech equities and tests public appetite for digital finance stocks before Maya's entrance.
Maya holds several structural regulatory advantages that could play a central role in its valuation pitch to prospective tech and crypto investors, including its own Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license and standalone digital banking license. This enables the platform to operate as an end-to-end digital finance hub with higher margin retention across both crypto trading fees and consumer lending yields.
In addition to listing on the PSE, Maya also maintains plans for a dual listing on a US exchange ahead of or alongside its Philippine debut, aiming to tap into the deep liquidity and higher tech valuations in the US market.
