Mazzei Takes GOP Nomination in Oklahoma Gubernatorial Runoff
Mike Mazzei, a Trump-backed wealth fund executive and former state senator, has secured the Republican nomination for Oklahoma's gubernatorial race. He won a runoff against State Attorney General Gentner Drummond, who had been endorsed by President Trump but was labeled as a 'fake Republican.'
Mazzei received 50.3% of the vote in the runoff, while Drummond garnered 49.7%. This narrow win comes after neither candidate secured an outright majority in the primary election in June.
With this victory, Mazzei will now face Democratic candidate Cyndi Munson in November and is considered a heavy favorite to win in the red state. Trump had previously endorsed Mazzei on Truth Social, praising his plans to 'reclaim Oklahoma's potential.'
