MeinKrypto Slowly Rolled Out Across Volksbank Institutions
Many Volksbank institutions do not offer crypto trading in their VR Banking App, despite the existence of the licensed product meinKrypto. DZ Bank provides the platform, while local banks act as distribution channels and settle trades through existing accounts.
The selection of cryptocurrencies offered is limited to Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Cardano (ADA). This choice does not follow market size alone but also considers which assets are uncontroversial in supervisory terms. Each bank decides when to switch on the crypto section, making it a local decision.
Customers must be of legal age and have their main residence in Germany to access the service. Trading is possible around the clock, but technical or operational issues may cause temporary interruptions.
