Meme Coin Market Showcases Rare Profits for Few as Most Users Lose Big
The meme coin market has been known for its volatility and unpredictability, but recent data reveals just how rare it is to achieve significant profits in this space. Robinhood Chain, a platform launched in early July, attracted attention due to its high transaction volume on August 31st, with approximately 75% of the total volume coming from memecoin transactions.
However, an analysis by Unfolded shows that most users trading on the FOMO platform did not fare well. In fact, a staggering 95.2% of users either lost money or made less than $100 in profit.
The numbers are even more striking when looking at those who managed to earn significant gains. Only 229 users earned more than $10,000, while 653 users earned more than $5,000 and 3,504 users earned more than $1,000. This highlights the high risk and uncertainty inherent in memecoin trading.
