Meme Coins Fuel Robinhood Chain’s Record-Breaking DEX Volume
Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 designed for trading and tokenized real-world assets, has set a new record in decentralized exchange volume. The chain processed $874.8 million in DEX activity on August 30, surpassing its previous daily high of $846.8 million.
Meme coins are driving much of the trading activity, with Pons (PONS) being the most actively traded token on Robinhood Chain that day, generating approximately $67.38 million in volume across 135,566 trades. Cash Cat (CASHCAT) ranked second with around $32.66 million in volume.
The surge in DEX volume comes after a slowdown in activity earlier this month, but the network's tokenized real-world asset market also reached a record on August 30, with tokenized value climbing to approximately $51.81 million and total RWA activity reaching around $165.5 million during the day.
Robinhood Chain has two very different sources of activity developing at the same time: speculative meme-coin trading and the longer-term tokenization of traditional financial assets.
