Meme Coins Rally as Bitcoin Hits $80,000, But Only One Has Room to Run
Bitcoin (BTC) has tested $80,000 this week, and three of the largest meme coins have rallied in response. Dogecoin (DOGE), Pepe (PEPE), and Pump.fun (PUMP) all posted double-digit gains last week, but their weekly charts sit at very different points.
Dogecoin is the standout performer among these meme coins. It gained 34.22% last week, rebounding from a support zone near $0.0556 that had held since late June. The move broke a descending trendline drawn from the December 2024 high at $0.485, which had capped every rally for 20 months.
The weekly Relative Strength Index (RSI) sits near 50, indicating that the advance consumed almost none of the available upside. Dogecoin now trades at $0.0929, retesting the broken line from above. A weekly close above it would confirm the end of the downtrend flagged in July.
On the other hand, PEPE is repeating a setup that already failed. It rose 59.53% last week, but this pattern was seen once before in December 2025, when PEPE printed a 78.18% weekly candle that also broke its descending trendline. Price then faded and spent more than seven months trapped between $0.00000223 and $0.0000044.
Pump.fun delivered the strongest move of the three, gaining 95.84% last week. This was the best weekly performance among top meme coins, but momentum has now turned. Pump.fun trades at $0.005018, down 6.2% over 24 hours after rejecting the 0.5 Fibonacci retracement at $0.005066.
