MENA Crypto Adoption Skyrockets as Transaction Volumes Hit Record High
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region has experienced rapid growth in cryptocurrency adoption. According to a report from the Bitcoin Policy Institute, the annual on-chain transaction volume in MENA increased from $100 billion in 2022 to approximately $350 billion in 2026.
Turkey remains the largest cryptocurrency market in MENA, with an annual transaction volume approaching $200 billion. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) processed around $150 billion in crypto transactions in 2025.
Saudi Arabia emerged as the fastest-growing digital asset market in the region, with a growth rate of 154% year over year. Qatar followed closely behind with a 120% increase during the same period.
