MENA Crypto Market Surges to $350 Billion as Institutional Interest Grows
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region has emerged as one of the fastest-growing crypto markets globally, according to a report by the Bitcoin Policy Institute. The region's annual transaction volume reached $350 billion, a significant increase from approximately $100 billion in 2022.
Saudi Arabia leads this growth, with a 154% year-over-year increase in crypto transactions, making it the fastest-growing market in the region. Turkey remains the largest market, with nearly $200 billion in annual transactions, while the UAE follows closely with about $150 billion in 2025.
The rise in transaction volume reflects growing institutional interest in the region and a shift towards using Bitcoin and stablecoins as a hedge against local economic challenges. The increasing regulatory support and participation of institutions are driving this growth.
