MENA Crypto Market Surges to $350 Billion by 2025-2026
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is experiencing rapid growth in its cryptocurrency market, with projected transaction volumes reaching around $350 billion by 2025-2026. According to the Bitcoin Policy Institute, this represents a significant increase from approximately $100 billion in 2022.
Turkey remains the largest crypto market in the region, processing around $200 billion annually. The country's high inflation and depreciation of its currency have driven demand for dollar-denominated stablecoins as an alternative store of value and trading instrument.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) recorded approximately $150 billion in cryptocurrency transaction volume in 2025. Saudi Arabia and Qatar posted some of the region's fastest growth rates, with Saudi Arabia recording a 154% year-over-year increase in cryptocurrency transaction volume, while Qatar recorded growth of 120%.
