The company, which has developed tools for predictive transaction monitoring and risk detection across multiple blockchains, is partnering with Mysten Labs to integrate confidential transfers directly with compliance and risk monitoring infrastructure.
The new system will treat account balances as private by default, while still allowing compliance teams to access the necessary information through a structured permission layer. This approach aims to provide regulators with the tools they need while protecting user privacy.
Merkle Science's confidential transfers initiative is an extension of its philosophy on blockchain assets, which assumes that every transaction should be treated as private unless there is a legitimate reason for it to be public. The company has already extended its services to privacy-focused protocols and has formed partnerships with entities such as Aleo, Finoa, and Stablecoin Standard.
The collaboration between Merkle Science and Mysten Labs is designed to bake privacy-compliant architecture into the system from the ground up, rather than treating every transaction as a publicly visible event that compliance teams retroactively analyze.
