MetaMask Unveils AI-Powered Wallet for Autonomous Transactions
MetaMask, a popular cryptocurrency wallet developer Consensys, has officially launched its MetaMask Agent Wallet for AI agents. This self-custody wallet allows users to securely manage their private keys while delegating on-chain transactions to AI agents within predetermined rules.
The MetaMask Agent Wallet was initially available through an early access program in June. With the official launch, Consensys has introduced new features and services, including support for multiple AI agent frameworks such as Anthropic's Claude Code and OpenAI's Codex.
Users can set up rules for their transactions, including spending limits, protocols, and risk settings. They can also choose between two operation modes: Guard Mode, which applies predetermined rules, and Beast Mode, a more autonomous option that still maintains security features.
The wallet supports various EVM chains, including Hyperliquid, Robinhood Chain, and Monad, as well as batch swaps and single transaction preparation via the ERC-7821 standard. AI agents can execute transactions without pre-holding native tokens for each chain, reducing gas costs.
Additionally, Consensys offers a paid subscription service called Transaction Shield, which provides users with up to $10,000 in monthly protection against malicious transactions, as well as threat detection and MEV protection through Blockaid.
