MetaMask Unveils Self-Custodial AI Wallet for Autonomous Crypto Trading
MetaMask has released Agent Wallet, a self-custodial AI-powered trading solution for crypto traders and developers. Users can set spending limits, allowlist protocols, and select security settings before agents execute transactions.
The wallet includes features such as transaction simulation, threat scanning, MEV protection, and gas abstraction for supported transactions. MetaMask allows users to choose between 'Guard Mode' and 'Beast Mode', which offer different levels of automation.
Agent Wallet supports various AI agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenClaw, Hermes, and OpenCode. It also supports Hyperliquid and Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible networks, allowing users to pay network fees with the asset being transferred instead of holding a chain's native token.
The launch follows MetaMask's June rollout of Agent Wallet to about 200 early access users. MetaMask said Agent Wallet reduces security risks by enforcing wallet-level permissions instead of trusting AI agents to act safely.
