Metaplanet's CEO Simon Gerovich recently addressed speculation that the company had sold $320 million in Bitcoin. However, this was simply a routine transfer of coins between its own custodial wallets.

The company holds 43,000 BTC, worth around $3 billion at recent prices, and Gerovich confirmed that the figure hasn't budged despite the wallet-to-wallet transfer.

Metaplanet has been steadily accumulating Bitcoin through a deliberate strategy. The company added 5,075 BTC in the first quarter of 2026 and another 1,005 BTC in June, pushing its treasury to its current size.
