Metaplanet Denies Selling Bitcoin After Large Transfer
Metaplanet's CEO has denied selling Bitcoin after a recent transfer of 5,014 BTC. The company claims this was routine custody-related work and that their holdings remain unchanged at 43,000 BTC.
Metaplanet is the world's third-largest publicly listed Bitcoin holder and the largest in Asia. They plan to expand their Bitcoin holdings to 100,000 BTC by the end of this year and 210,000 BTC by the end of 2027.
The company will also be investing about $25 million in Japan's Bitcoin and digital-asset infrastructure over the next two to three years through its venture arm, Metaplanet Ventures.
