Metaplanet Expands Bitcoin Strategy with New Hong Kong Unit
Metaplanet, a Tokyo-listed company, has announced plans to create a new wholly owned subsidiary in Hong Kong with an initial capital of $1 million. The unit will manage Bitcoin-linked investments during Asian market hours and is expected to be operational by the end of September 2026.
The new entity, Metaplanet Asset Management Asia Limited, aims to handle trading and monitoring of assets while US financial markets are closed. This move is part of Project Nova, which seeks to develop financial services using the company's Bitcoin treasury.
The subsidiary will be responsible for allocating client funds across various liquid markets, including Bitcoin, listed stocks, preferred stock, credit products, derivatives, and structured product income strategies.
