Metaplanet Expands Hong Kong Operations with New Bitcoin-Focused Entity
Metaplanet Inc., operator of the ticker 3350, has established a new entity in Hong Kong to expand its Bitcoin operations. Metaplanet Asset Management Asia Limited will handle Bitcoin transactions and other financial services throughout Asian trading sessions.
The subsidiary is backed by $1 million in starting capital and will execute trades involving Bitcoin, stocks, preferred equity instruments, and credit products. Its leadership team includes founding directors Simon Gerovich, Darren Winia, and Kelvin Lee.
The new division forms a key component of Project Nova, Metaplanet's strategy to develop a comprehensive Bitcoin-centered financial services ecosystem. The company currently holds 43,000 BTC in corporate reserves and expects negligible effects from the new venture on its fiscal performance for 2026.
