Metaplanet Injects $132M into Super League, Renames it Superplanet
Metaplanet is spearheading its Bitcoin treasury strategy in the U.S. market by pouring $132 million into Super League, which will be renamed to Superplanet. Metaplanet contributed 2,100 BTC worth approximately $132.1 million and $2.5 million in cash via its U.S.-based unit Metaplanet Holdings. The investment totals $134.6 million, with Metaplanet acquiring around 95.7% of the common stock through pre-funded warrants.
The company will split the Japanese and U.S. markets into two independent capital-raising machines, with a sole unified Bitcoin treasury. Superplanet's name change is expected to complete once it begins trading under the ticker SUPA. The existing gaming media business of Super League will continue operating.
