Metaplanet, a Tokyo-listed bitcoin treasury company, has agreed to contribute 2,100 BTC and $2.5 million to Super League, a Nasdaq-listed gaming advertising company. This deal values the package at approximately $134.6 million and gives Metaplanet about 95.7% of Super League's common stock.

Matthew Edelman, CEO of Metaplanet, will become Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Superplanet, a US-based vehicle for Super League's bitcoin holdings. However, this title is not entirely accurate, as Edelman has previously held various roles at Super League, including President, Chief Commercial Officer, and Chairman of the Board.

Super League's shares surged 82.12% on August 18, 2026, closing at $5.50. The company had reported a net loss of $8.4 million across the first six months of 2026 and cash down to $1.1 million from $14.4 million at the end of 2025.
