Metaplanet Sends 2,400 BTC to Coinbase Prime

Metaplanet, a Japanese company focused on Bitcoin, has transferred a large amount of BTC to Coinbase Prime. The transfer, which took place on August 31st, saw Metaplanet send 2,400 BTC to the exchange, valued at approximately $186 million at the time.

The transferred Bitcoins are part of a larger portfolio of around 43,000 BTC that Metaplanet acquired at an average cost of $96,191. The total value of these assets is estimated to be around $3.48 billion.

Market participants have taken note of the transfer, with some speculating that it could indicate a potential sell-off. However, as institutional services like Coinbase Prime can also be used for custody and liquidity management purposes, it's unclear what Metaplanet's intentions are.
