Metaplanet's recent transfer of 5,014 BTC has sparked rumors about the company's intentions. However, CEO Simon Gerovich clarified that none of these coins were sold and the company's holdings remain unchanged at 43,000 BTC.

The Tokyo-listed firm is working towards a target of 100,000 BTC by the end of 2026 and 210,000 BTC by the end of 2027. Despite Bitcoin's price fluctuations throughout the year, Metaplanet has continued to accumulate coins at a steady pace.

Gerovich explained that the transfer was a routine custody operation between Metaplanet's own custodial wallets, with no impact on the company's overall holdings or strategy. The movement was visible in real-time due to the publication of all wallet addresses.
