Metaplanet Stock Plummets Amid Governance Concerns
Metaplanet's shares have been on a downward trajectory for months, with the stock currently trading at €1.41, roughly 71 percent below its 52-week high of €4.82 reached in September.
The company's entire valuation is based on its Bitcoin treasury, which stands at 43,000 units.
However, a recent controversy has further eroded investor trust in the management team.
In late August, CEO Simon Gerovich exercised his share subscription rights and received 64 million new common shares, growing his personal stake from 15.5 million to 79.6 million shares.
This move was seen as damaging optics for the company, with many shareholders questioning whether investors should sell immediately or hold on to their positions.
