Metaplanet Tackles Shareholder Governance Concerns
Metaplanet's CEO Simon Gerovich has addressed weeks of shareholder criticism over corporate transparency. The Bitcoin treasury company recently revised its 10th Series stock acquisition rights on August 18, with changes aimed at aligning leadership with investor interests.
The revisions removed an adjustment provision that had drawn objections from shareholders and fixed the total share count under the program going forward. Gerovich said this update was designed to remove uncertainty from the structure.
Gerovich also clarified his personal ties to MMXX Ventures, a Metaplanet shareholder, stating that he holds no director or officer position at the company. He emphasized that his stake in MMXX does not extend into its daily operations and that he plays no part in the firm's investment or trading decisions.
