Metaplanet Transfers 3,200 BTC to Coinbase Prime in $248 Million Movement

Metaplanet, a company holding 43,000 BTC, has made a significant transfer of Bitcoin to Coinbase Prime. On August 31, Metaplanet transferred 3,200 BTC worth approximately $248.67 million across seven transactions. This movement is notable because current coverage has focused on the 2,400 BTC figure.

The source evidence from Arkham shows that the seven transfers add up to exactly 3,200 BTC. In comparison, Metaplanet's current holdings of 43,000 BTC would make this transfer about 7.4% of its stated holding.

This is not the first time Metaplanet has transferred a substantial amount of Bitcoin to Coinbase Prime. On August 25, it moved 1,350 BTC worth approximately $108 million, and on Aug. 25, 2026, it moved 1,000 BTC worth about $79.8 million.

Metaplanet's strategy involves holding Bitcoin as a treasury asset, ranking it third among public companies by Bitcoin holdings behind Strategy with 840,447 BTC and Twenty One Capital with 43,514 BTC.
