Metaplanet's $108M Bitcoin Transfer Sparks Institutional Attention
Metaplanet, a Japanese Bitcoin-focused company, has made another significant move in its treasury management strategy. The firm transferred approximately $108 million worth of BTC (1,350 units) to Coinbase Prime, according to blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain.
This transfer brings the total value of Metaplanet's BTC holdings to around $3.48 billion, with 43,000 units in its treasury. This is one of the largest corporate firms in the world to have accumulated such a large amount of Bitcoin, with an average price per unit of $96,191.
The transfer has sparked attention from crypto investors and highlights the growing trend of institutional adoption of Bitcoin as a treasury asset. Metaplanet's move comes after a series of aggressive acquisition bids, which have made it one of the most intriguing public digital asset firms in action.
