Metaplanet, Asia's largest public Bitcoin holder, recently moved $322 million worth of BTC between its custodial wallet addresses. The transfer sparked market speculation among digital asset trading desks due to the large amount involved, but company executive Simon Gerovich clarified that zero Bitcoin was sold during the recent transfers.

The transfer was a routine custody operation and part of Metaplanet's periodic rebalancing of its cold storage facilities to meet institutional audit requirements. The company holds 43,000 BTC and remains Asia's largest public Bitcoin holder.

Gerovich emphasized that no digital assets were liquidated during the operational movement, and the corporate treasury reserve is complete. He also pointed out that the company's addresses are published, making transfers observable in real-time.

The transfer highlights the efficiency of using decentralized networks for large settlement transactions, with Metaplanet only paying $8 in network gas fees to process the huge transaction on the blockchain ledger.
