The individual behind the $7.7 million Ethereum maximal extractable value (MEV) bot exploit in June has been making questionable trades, incurring a significant loss.

Data from Lookonchain shows that after securing funds from the hack, the exploiter sold 2,327 ETH at prices just under $1,700 but later changed their mind and accumulated more ETH, purchasing 2,063 tokens at an average price of $1,912 per token.

This decision resulted in a loss of $505,000 for the perpetrator, as they received $3.94 million for selling the initial 2,327 ETH following the hack but spent the same amount to acquire 264 fewer tokens.

The MEV bot exploit took place on June 20-21, where the hacker tricked an automated sandwich bot using fake liquidity pools and deceptive tokens, resulting in a $7.7 million heist.
