MEV Bot Hacker Loses Over Half Million After Questionable Trades
A hacker who exploited the Ethereum maximal extractable value (MEV) bot in June has continued to make questionable trades, resulting in significant losses.
The hacker, known as jaredfromsubway.eth, stole $7.7 million from the MEV bot and initially swapped it for ETH. They later sold 2,327 ETH at an average price of $1,695, netting around $3.94 million.
However, the hacker changed their mind and started accumulating Ethereum earlier today, purchasing 2,063 ETH at an average price of $1,912 per token.
This decision resulted in a loss of over $505,000 for the hacker, as they spent the same amount to receive 264 fewer tokens.
