The hacker behind the $7.7 million exploit of the Ethereum MEV bot in June is proving to be quite skilled at hacking, but sadly lacking in trading acumen.

According to data from Lookonchain, the perpetrator sold 2,327 ETH for approximately $3.94 million after the hack. However, they later changed their mind and started accumulating Ethereum, purchasing 2,063 ETH for an average price of around $1,912 per token.

This decision ultimately led to a loss of $505,000 for the exploiter, as they received $3.94 million for the sale following the hack but spent the same amount to receive 264 fewer tokens.

The actual attack took place on June 20-21 when the perpetrator tricked the automated sandwich bot using fake liquidity pools and deceptive tokens.
