MEXC Blocks Access to Over a Dozen Countries Due to Sanctions Law and Regulator Bans
MEXC Global Ltd is one of the world's leading cryptocurrency exchanges but it has several restrictions in place. The exchange operates in over 170 countries and regions, but users from certain locations are blocked due to various reasons.
The main MEXC restricted countries include North Korea, Cuba, Sudan, Iran, Mainland China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Canada, the United States, and Russia-controlled parts of Ukraine. These restrictions are mainly due to sanctions law, missing licenses, or direct regulator bans.
MEXC does not work in these countries because they are under heavy sanctions from the US, EU, and FATF. Additionally, some countries require specific licenses that MEXC has not obtained, such as the United States' federal derivatives registration and state money transmitter licenses.
The exchange also uses automatic system checks to block IP addresses coming from American internet service providers. Users are blocked because MEXC lacks the required approvals in these regions.
