MEXC Trading Volume Surges 3,308% Amid Surge in Leveraged Products
The trading volume on crypto exchanges has seen a significant surge, particularly in Asia. According to data from MEXC, the average daily stock futures volume across Asia rose by 3,308% quarter-over-quarter. The number of daily traders increased by 386% over the same period.
This growth is attributed to the increasing demand for leveraged products, as retail brokers are turning to crypto exchanges to channel their demand for stocks and commodities. TradFi perpetuals have already outpaced spot real-world assets across major crypto venues before this latest regional data.
MEXC Ventures funded The Cross Asset Shift, a report that highlights the trend of investors using one account to cover multiple trading activities. Vugar Usi, MEXC's CEO, noted that Asian investors want to use a single funded account to cover more of their trading. He added that stablecoin balances allow users to move among crypto, gold, equities, and indices without funding a separate brokerage account.
The survey also found that 75.1% of respondents had encountered a major market event while traditional markets were closed, and 79% would consider using a crypto venue to trade gold or oil in such situations.
