MiCA CASP Tracker Simplifies Crypto License Verification in the EU
The European Union's MiCA Crypto Alliance has launched the MiCA CASP Tracker, a searchable directory that makes it easier for users to verify the authorization status of crypto exchanges and wallet providers in the EU. The tracker pulls data from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) register and allows users to filter records by company name, country, regulator, authorization date, or licensed service.
MiCA regulation defines ten regulated crypto services, including custody, trading platform operation, crypto-to-fiat exchange, and order execution. ESMA's interim register is updated weekly, but the tracker may lag behind due to the time it takes for national competent authorities to feed updates back to Brussels.
The launch of the tracker comes as MiCA's main transition period ended on July 1, 2026, with unauthorized providers required to stop accepting new EU clients. The tracker is not an official regulatory database but rather an independent research resource built on ESMA's public data.
